Audio Suite
A voice actor’s home away from home…
Fully equipped with our 6’ x 8’ Whisper Room sound booth, a Neumann TLM 103 large-diaphragm condenser microphone, and Sony headphones. The studio is designed for voiceover auditions, podcasting, or developing your demo reel. It comfortably seats two performers.
The editing bay includes a pre-set soundboard, Mac computer, a microphone and headphones for playback. DAWS used on-site are Audacity, ProTools and Logic.
You can either receive a brief training session on the Audio Suite equipment and self-record or reserve one-on-one recording assistance with our AV Technician.

Video Suite
The Fern Person’s Video Suite was designed with your audition needs in mind.
It’s fully equipped with a Canon 4K Pro Camcorder utilizing Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) to record straight to the Mac computer. Studio lighting, a variety of muslin backdrops, and Rokit speakers for playback complete the studio.
Edit your audition with iMovie, Final Cut Pro software, or save your project to your flash drive or Dropbox. It’s quick and easy with our high-speed internet.
You can receive a brief training session on the Video Suite equipment, bring your own reader, and self-record.

Source-Connect
Source-Connect allows artists to connect and record live sessions with clients and studios anywhere in the world and is an industry standard for thousands of voice actors. Source-Connect Talent v3 and v4 are both available and kept up-to-date.
Performers can reserve the space to deliver high-quality, professional, real-time audio to their clients. Reservations typically include on-site support to help performers navigate the sessions and comfortably connect.
Audition Assistance
One-on-one audition assistance with KRC Executive Director, Melissa Pryor. Emmy and Artios Award winning casting professional with a decade of experience in Chicago and LA, BA Theatre Performance & MA Psychology, and a decade spent coaching auditions.
This includes coach/reader, recording, editing, and submitting the audition in the KRC's Video Suite.
Recording Assistance
One-on-one engineering, editing, and mixing sessions are available with Thomas Price, AV Technician. Thomas is a working stagehand and audio technician in Chicago. A graduate of DePaul's film and television program, Thomas has years of experience on film sets, live concerts, and everything in between. Reserve the booth for voiceover auditions, podcasts, and audiobooks.
Career Consultation
Reserve time with Executive Director, Melissa Pryor, for a one-on-one career consultation. Melissa is an Emmy and Artios Award winning casting professional with a decade of experience in Chicago and LA and another decade spent coaching auditions.
Discuss headshots, resumes, acting profiles, agency submissions, actionable steps and the everyday struggles of pursuing a life in the arts.
Tech Help Desk
Spend 20 or 45 minutes working with our experienced team on technology-related issues.
General tech consultation, audio engineering / recording, videotaping, and editing services are available one-on-one with AV Technician Thomas Price. Meet in person or online.

Demo Reels
Looking to update your acting reel or profiles? The KRC can help you pull clips from OnCamera projects both new and old. We can also help you edit together a quality demo reel.
Additionally, if you’re looking to break into voiceover we can help record new VO spots from scratch and edit a professional voiceover reel. Consultation appointments are required before recording VO reels.
Computer Lab
The business center is furnished with 2 Mac computers and 1 Dell PC, printers, copiers and scanners.
It’s the perfect place to stop by between auditions and your day job, check email, print sides & scripts, grab a free cup of coffee/tea, or charge your cell phone.
Conference Room
This private conference room is available for reservation. Use this space for solo work, one-on-one, small group or production meetings.
The conference table and television are available for playback or presentations. There is also a keyboard available for music rehearsals.
CoWorking
The business center is furnished with 2 Mac computers and 1 Dell PC, printers, copiers and scanners.
It’s the perfect place to stop by between auditions and your day job, check email, print sides & scripts, grab a free cup of coffee/tea, or charge your cell phone.
